On 4 July 2026, SOLID ALIGN hosted “Beyond Sculpture: A Conversation on Art, Space, and Experience” at Cosmic Bloom, Luenrit Yaowarat, Bangkok.
Held as part of Cosmic Bloom, the first solo exhibition in Thailand by Filipino artist and sculptor Jinggoy Buensuceso, the Art Talk opened a wider conversation about the role of art in architecture, public space, cities, and everyday life.
Today, art no longer belongs only inside museums or galleries. It can appear in hotels, buildings, cultural districts, public spaces, communities, and even in the small details of everyday life. This shift changes the question from “What is art?” to “What can art do for people, places, and the city?”

กิจกรรมครั้งนี้จัดขึ้นภายใต้นิทรรศการ Cosmic Bloom นิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งแรกในประเทศไทยของ Jinggoy Buensuceso ศิลปินและประติมากรชาวฟิลิปปินส์ โดยเปิดบทสนทนาที่กว้างขึ้นเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของศิลปะในสถาปัตยกรรม พื้นที่สาธารณะ เมือง และชีวิตประจำวัน
ในปัจจุบัน ศิลปะไม่ได้อยู่เพียงในพิพิธภัณฑ์หรือแกลเลอรีอีกต่อไป แต่อาจปรากฏอยู่ในโรงแรม อาคาร ย่านวัฒนธรรม พื้นที่สาธารณะ ชุมชน หรือแม้แต่รายละเอียดเล็ก ๆ ในชีวิตประจำวัน
คำถามสำคัญจึงไม่ได้หยุดอยู่ที่ว่า “อะไรคืองานศิลปะ” แต่ขยับไปสู่คำถามว่า “ศิลปะสามารถทำอะไรให้กับผู้คน พื้นที่ และเมืองได้บ้าง”
Art Beyond the Gallery
One of the key ideas from Beyond Sculpture was that art can change how people perceive a place.
Art is not only an object placed somewhere for beauty. It can create atmosphere, identity, memory, and emotional value. In cities like Bangkok, art and design have helped turn overlooked urban areas into cultural and creative destinations.
This is the heart of Beyond Sculpture. Sculpture is no longer only a three-dimensional object on a pedestal. It can become a space, an experience, a conversation, and a new way of seeing the world.
Jinggoy Buensuceso and Cosmic Bloom
Jinggoy Buensuceso’s work sits between art, design, and architecture. His sculptures are not made only to be viewed from a distance, but to be entered, experienced, and felt.
One of his key artistic languages is folding, inspired by the structure of origami. Through this approach, hard industrial materials such as metal are transformed into forms that feel fluid, layered, and alive.
In Cosmic Bloom, this language expands into an immersive sculptural journey where material, light, reflection, and movement become part of the audience’s experience.
Why Luenrit Yaowarat Matters
Cosmic Bloom is deeply connected to its location at Luenrit Yaowarat, in Bangkok’s historic Chinatown district.
The site carries layers of architecture, memory, community, sound, smell, and movement. These elements become part of how audiences experience the exhibition.
Here, the sculptures do not simply occupy the space. They work with the building, the city, and the people around them.
Three Floors, Three States
Cosmic Bloom unfolds across three floors: The Portal, Bloom, and A Beautiful Death.
The Portal marks the beginning of the journey and introduces the idea of “Liwayway,” a Tagalog word meaning dawn.
Bloom expands into color, energy, and the feeling of connection with the universe.
A Beautiful Death reflects transformation, release, and the idea that an ending can also become a new beginning.
Together, the three floors create a journey through awakening, blooming, and transformation.
When the Audience Becomes Part of the Work
Cosmic Bloom is not a conventional sculpture exhibition where visitors only stand and look.
Audiences are invited to move through the work and experience scale, light, shadow, sound, material, and reflection. Some works use reflective stainless steel, allowing visitors to see themselves inside the artwork.
In this way, the audience is no longer separate from the work, but becomes part of the experience.
ศิลปะที่ก้าวออกจากแกลเลอรี
หนึ่งในประเด็นสำคัญของ Beyond Sculpture คือ ศิลปะสามารถเปลี่ยนวิธีที่ผู้คนรับรู้ต่อพื้นที่หนึ่งได้
ศิลปะไม่ได้เป็นเพียงวัตถุที่ถูกนำไปวางเพื่อความสวยงาม แต่สามารถสร้างบรรยากาศ อัตลักษณ์ ความทรงจำ และคุณค่าทางความรู้สึกให้กับพื้นที่
ในเมืองอย่างกรุงเทพฯ ศิลปะและการออกแบบมีส่วนช่วยเปลี่ยนพื้นที่ที่เคยถูกมองข้าม ให้กลายเป็นจุดหมายปลายทางทางวัฒนธรรมและความคิดสร้างสรรค์
นี่คือหัวใจของแนวคิด Beyond Sculpture เพราะประติมากรรมไม่ได้เป็นเพียงวัตถุสามมิติที่ตั้งอยู่บนฐานอีกต่อไป แต่สามารถกลายเป็นพื้นที่ ประสบการณ์ บทสนทนา และวิธีใหม่ในการมองโลกได้
Jinggoy Buensuceso และ Cosmic Bloom
งานของ Jinggoy Buensuceso ตั้งอยู่บนรอยต่อระหว่างศิลปะ การออกแบบ และสถาปัตยกรรม ผลงานของเขาไม่ได้ถูกสร้างขึ้นเพื่อให้มองจากระยะไกลเท่านั้น แต่ชวนให้ผู้ชมเดินเข้าไปสัมผัส รับรู้ และมีประสบการณ์ร่วม
หนึ่งในภาษาสำคัญในงานของเขาคือการพับ ซึ่งได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากโครงสร้างของ origami ก่อนถูกแปลออกมาเป็นประติมากรรมที่ใช้วัสดุแข็งแรงอย่างโลหะ แต่กลับให้ความรู้สึกไหลลื่น มีเลเยอร์ และมีชีวิต
ใน Cosmic Bloom ภาษาทางศิลปะนี้ถูกขยายออกเป็นประสบการณ์เชิงพื้นที่ ที่วัสดุ แสง เงา การสะท้อน และการเคลื่อนไหว กลายเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของประสบการณ์ผู้ชม
ทำไมเลื่อนฤทธิ์ เยาวราช จึงสำคัญ
Cosmic Bloom มีความสัมพันธ์อย่างลึกซึ้งกับสถานที่จัดแสดงที่ Luenrit Yaowarat หรือชุมชนเลื่อนฤทธิ์ เยาวราช
พื้นที่แห่งนี้ตั้งอยู่ในย่านเยาวราช ซึ่งเต็มไปด้วยชั้นของสถาปัตยกรรม ความทรงจำ ชุมชน เสียง กลิ่น และการเคลื่อนไหวของผู้คน องค์ประกอบเหล่านี้กลายเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของวิธีที่ผู้ชมรับรู้นิทรรศการ
ที่นี่ ประติมากรรมไม่ได้เพียงตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่ แต่ทำงานร่วมกับอาคาร เมือง และผู้คนรอบข้าง
สามชั้น สามสภาวะ
Cosmic Bloom ถูกจัดแสดงผ่านสามชั้น ได้แก่ The Portal, Bloom และ A Beautiful Death
The Portal คือจุดเริ่มต้นของการเดินทาง และนำเสนอแนวคิด “Liwayway” คำภาษาตากาล็อกที่แปลว่า รุ่งเช้า
Bloom คือพื้นที่ของสีสัน พลังงาน และความรู้สึกเชื่อมโยงกับจักรวาล
A Beautiful Death สะท้อนการเปลี่ยนผ่าน การปล่อยวาง และแนวคิดที่ว่าจุดจบอาจเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นใหม่ได้เช่นกัน
เมื่อรวมกัน ทั้งสามชั้นจึงกลายเป็นการเดินทางผ่านการตื่น การเบ่งบาน และการเปลี่ยนผ่าน
เมื่อผู้ชมกลายเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของงาน
Cosmic Bloom ไม่ใช่นิทรรศการประติมากรรมแบบเดิมที่ผู้ชมเพียงยืนมองงานจากภายนอก
ผู้ชมถูกเชิญให้เดินผ่านงาน รับรู้ขนาด แสง เงา เสียง วัสดุ และการสะท้อนของพื้นผิว งานบางชิ้นใช้สเตนเลสสตีลสะท้อนเงา ทำให้ผู้ชมมองเห็นตัวเองอยู่ภายในงานศิลปะ
ในแง่นี้ ผู้ชมจึงไม่ได้แยกออกจากงาน แต่กลายเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของประสบการณ์
